What We Offer
Avondale Place is a recently constructed four bedroom home specifically built to provide respite for those living with a disability. Avondale Place officially opened in May 2023.
This project was initiated by a local family who experienced difficulty in accessing adequate respite care. Their generous contribution of $1.5 million, along with our local Bendigo Community Bank contributing a further $500,000 and the local community raising over $100,000 ensured this project became a reality.
Avondale Place is governed by the ‘Henty Respite Trust Ltd,’ a five member board overseeing the development and running Avondale Place. The Henty Respite Trust Ltd is a registered not for profit charity with a mission and priority to provide short term respite care at a affordable price for those with a disability or in need.
We are currently reaching out to organisations to gauge what interest there may be to utilise Avondale Place for short term housing for anyone in need.
Henty Respite Board would like to meet with interested parties to discuss how we could help facilitate your housing needs, define what “short term” could mean for you and what costs may be involved, bearing in mind our focus is to provide assistance to those in need at an affordable cost.
